The well-known American senator, Robert Greenway, commented on the United Kingdom’s decision to support the Moroccan Sahara by supporting the self-government proposal launched by the Kingdom of Morocco, considering that “the right decision”.
This brief and official commentary came to reflect the growing support of important political figures on the international scene towards the Moroccan solution to the regional conflict above the Sahara, in the context of the development of international positions in favor of the Moroccan proposal, which benefits from generalized support within the United Nations.
This statement represents Greenway, a person who has an impact on American foreign policies, a qualitative addition to international support for Morocco’s sovereignty in its southern regions, in particular in the light of relations between Rabat and London in various fields, most of which is the safety and cooperation of investments.
This American political position emphasizes the growing tendency to consider autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty as a realistic and credible option to resolve the conflict, in accordance with international legitimacy and stability efforts in the region.
