The President of ANRE Morocco, in his capacity as President of MEDREG, and the Italian host Minister of the Environment and Energy Security inaugurated the forum of presidents of Mediterranean Energy Regulators in Sicily


The President of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) in his capacity as president of the Association of Mediterranean regulators MEDREG, Mr. Abdellatif Bardach, inaugurated the 4th session of the Presidents’ forum alongside the ministers of energy Italian, Mr. Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, and Lebanese, Mr. Walid Fayad which was held at the historic site of Selinunte in Italy.

The event was attended by high-level government representatives, parliamentarians, transport network managers and the private sector hosted by the Presidents of energy regulators, covering the entire energy spectrum of the region. Discussions focused on improving energy infrastructure and systems integration across the region, exploring innovations such as smart grids, electric mobility, and the development of green hydrogen.

The leadership of the Kingdom of Morocco was particularly highlighted during the discussions, highlighting the strategic vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Help Him, who launched and promoted a vision of Mediterranean unity, focused on cooperation cross-border and sustainable energy solutions.

During his speech, Mr. Bardach reaffirmed the importance of these collaborations: “Our geostrategic position places us at the crossroads of essential energy exchanges. By synchronizing our efforts, we can overcome current challenges and shape a sustainable energy future for the Mediterranean and beyond. »
