Tourist arrivals in Morocco have reached, as the first five months of 2025, a new record of 7.2 million people, recording growth of 22% compared to the same period a year earlier, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy.
“A new record for the Moroccan tourism sector, which recorded 7.2 million arrivals at the end of May 2025, a remarkable increase of 22% compared to the same period of 2024. This performance represents 1.3 million additional tourists and significant growth of 68% compared to 2019,” said a ministry’s press release.
These results confirm the growth trend started in 2024 and have a long -standing Morocco on the global tourist chessboard, notes the same source, adding that this dynamic testifies to the effectiveness of the strategic guidelines adopted for the sector.
Commenting on these results, the Minister of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, said: “These exceptional results validate the tourist strategy adopted under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI that God assists him. Our government has invested judiciously in this sector, with tangible results today ”.
This growth strengthens the position of the kingdom as a leading destination on the international scene. It reflects the reinforced attractiveness of the destination “Morocco”, the result of the implementation of the 2023-2026 route sheet focused on strengthening air connectivity, the intensification of promotion and stimulation of investment for a more diverse tourist offer.
These encouraging performances confirm Morocco’s trajectory towards the target of 26 million tourists by 2030.
