HIBAPRESS – Chafiq Anouri
Former Minister of Justice and Freedoms, Mustapha Ramid, called on the "Generation Z" movement to stop the protests to cut off the path for what he called "gangs" that infiltrated the demonstrations to label them with "violence" and "crime".
El Remid said in a post published on his "Facebook" account that the issue was no longer "related to legitimate demands only" nor to "exercising the freedom to demonstrate, which is a constitutional right". The former leader in the Justice and Development Party added that the matter had become "exceptionally dangerous, relating to the violation of the right to life and the destruction of public and private property." El Remid described these saboteurs as "the criminal gang that infiltrated the protest space, and mixed with those with good intentions and legitimate aspirations, to spoil the protest itself, and taint it with the label of violence and crime." He continued in the same context: "and attacks public and private property, and the result is losses in property, and unfortunately even in lives, in addition to hundreds of wounded and disabled." El Remid stressed that "this crime covered, and will cover, everything that is noble and legitimate", considering that after what happened, "there remains only one solution, which is that those in charge of this youth dynamic for Generation Z have the ability and courage to control the generation of (crime), even by stopping the protests, otherwise we are going to the unknown."
