HIBAPRESS – Fes Office
The voices of the younger generation in the city of Fes, especially Generation Z, expressing their anger at the local political performance, and what they describe as the "chronic failure" of the parties that have successively managed the city without achieving tangible results, are rising recently.
A number of young people believe that many local political actors have "consumed all possible opportunities," and that the outcome of their work has not risen to the level of the population's aspirations, as the city still faces clear imbalances in the areas of construction, infrastructure, and job opportunities. The critical voices did not just question the effectiveness of party programs, but went further than that, accusing some elected officials of "involvement in financial and administrative corruption cases," which is confirmed by the cases witnessed by the courts of Fes in recent years. These young people believe that the parties are still repeating the same mistakes, by relying on "moneybags" in election campaigns, and employing banquets and traditional gatherings to gain electoral sympathy, at a time when the Fassi voter has become more aware and eager for change. Many activists confirm that "the next stage will be a decisive moment," as they vow to punish those they consider "responsible for the city's decline," through the ballot boxes, stressing that Fes needs new faces, and competencies capable of meeting the economic and social challenges, and restoring the citizen's confidence in political action.
