HIBAPRESS
Following what was circulated in some media outlets, based on a statement issued by the Moroccan Association for Human Rights branch in Al-Manara, Marrakech, regarding the death of a citizen during the events witnessed in the Sidi Youssef Ben Ali area of Marrakech, the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal in Marrakech announces that this news is baseless.
The Attorney General at the Court of Appeal in Marrakech concluded that no deaths were recorded during the events in the area, pointing out that the incident discussed in the statement issued by the Moroccan Association for Human Rights – Al-Manara Marrakech branch, and published in the electronic newspaper *Al-Marrakshi Com*, has no connection to these events. The Public Prosecution clarified that this concerns a citizen who was practicing his activity as a street vendor on Al-Mussala Street, where he suffered a sudden health crisis on October 1, 2025, and fell to the ground next to his merchandise display at the Kutubiya location, far from the site of the protests. He was quickly transported to the Cherifa Hospital, but arrived there deceased. After his father appeared before the judicial police and this Public Prosecution, he stated that he had no doubts about the circumstances of his son's death, and after an examination of the deceased's body was conducted, it was handed over to his family for burial. Therefore, the Public Prosecution confirms that the death of the person in question has absolutely nothing to do with the events witnessed in the Sidi Youssef Ben Ali area, and that what was circulated in this regard is untrue.
