American President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he would not accept any delay from Hamas regarding the implementation of his plan to stop the war in the Gaza Strip.
Trump explained, saying: "I appreciate that Israel has temporarily halted the bombing operations to allow the opportunity to complete the process of releasing the hostages and reaching a peace agreement," stressing that he "will not tolerate any situation that could make Gaza a source of danger," adding: "The work must be done quickly, and we will deal with everyone fairly." The American president affirmed that "Hamas must act quickly, otherwise everything will be at risk." In response, Hamas issued its response on Friday to Trump's plan regarding the future of Gaza, which includes a ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian detainees, in addition to facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid and reconstruction, and rejecting any attempts to displace Palestinians from the Strip. The movement announced its approval to release all Israeli prisoners, whether alive or dead, according to a specific exchange mechanism in the American proposal, while providing the necessary field conditions to implement the process, expressing its readiness to enter into negotiations through mediators to discuss the details. Hamas also affirmed its acceptance of handing over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body of independents (technocrats), which will be formed based on Palestinian national consensus, and with Arab and Islamic support. The movement's statement indicated that other issues related to the future of the Strip and the rights of the Palestinian people will be discussed within a comprehensive national framework, based on the relevant international resolutions, and with the participation of various Palestinian forces.
