HIBAPRESS reports that local authorities in the Sidi Kacem region announced that 9 people died, while 6 others sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident that occurred around 6:00 pm on Saturday on regional road number 4042, near the Douar Taawouniat Al-Housh One, Chbbanat commune, Zerara district.
The same source explained that this accident occurred after a truck collided with a large vehicle carrying 15 people, including the driver. It added that immediately upon being notified of the accident, local authorities, the Royal Gendarmerie, and Civil Protection services went to the scene to take the necessary measures regarding the accident, where the injured were transferred to the Sidi Kacem Regional Hospital, while the bodies of the victims were deposited in the morgue of the same center. Local authorities indicated that an investigation has been opened by the Royal Gendarmerie, under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor's Office, to determine the circumstances of the accident.
