In application of the High Royal Instructions, the Head of Government chairs a meeting devoted to the 7th general population and housing census

In application of the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, may God help him, contained in the royal letter addressed to the Head of Government dated June 20, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch chaired, Monday, June 24 in Rabat, a meeting devoted to the 7th general population and housing census, scheduled for the end of summer, in which the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Abdelouafi Laftit and the High Commissioner for Planning, Mr. Ahmed took part Lahlimi Alami.
The Head of Government recalled, during this meeting, the content of the royal letter, which outlined the broad outlines to ensure the success of this important operation and whose main directions were assimilated by the various stakeholders, ensuring their mobilization to make this deadline a success, in accordance with the aspirations of the sovereign. Mr. Aziz Akhannouch affirmed, in this regard, that the government will spare no effort to ensure the means for the full success of this national-scale operation and its organization within the allotted time frame, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions. He stressed the importance of the results of the next census for the development of relevant public policies and the harmonization of different programs with the needs of citizens.
After emphasizing the importance of the general mobilization of human and logistical resources, the Head of Government called, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, all administrations and public establishments and the decentralized services concerned, to proof of serious involvement and close coordination for the successful organization of the 7th general population and housing census, which constitutes an important mechanism for a detailed understanding of demographic and socio-economic developments of the Kingdom and for the development of relevant policies at the national and local levels.
The meeting made it possible to examine the various practical arrangements relating to the organization of the census operation, in the light of the High Instructions contained in the royal letter addressed to the Head of Government, aimed at ensuring an innovative operation through the approach and the technological means that will be mobilized for the collection and processing of information; and ambitious by broadening the fields of investigation to new themes, like the structuring societal project of social protection, which HM The King, may God assist him, surrounds with his High Solicitude.
The royal letter addressed to the Head of Government last Thursday highlighted the valuable contribution of the results of the next general population and housing census to “the realization of our social project and the successful deployment of our development model, built on the principles of political democracy, economic efficiency, human development and social and territorial cohesion”.
