HIBAPRESS
Today marked the conclusion of the cleanliness and awareness campaign launched by the company "Arma Mauritania" in the capital, Nouakchott, which lasted for two full weeks, targeting dozens of educational institutions and residential neighborhoods in the three states of the capital: West, North, and South.
This initiative formed an essential part of the official preparations for the 2025-2026 academic year, coming within the framework of an integrated governmental vision aimed at creating a safe and stimulating school and healthy environment for the capital's students.
Institutional Cooperation and a Clear Governmental Vision
This campaign came as a result of careful coordination between the company "Arma Mauritania" and local authorities, under the direct supervision of the Ministry Delegate in charge of promoting decentralization and local development, and with the support of the Ministry of Education and Reform of the Education System, which, under the leadership of Dr. Hoda Babah, was keen to ensure the readiness of educational institutions to start in ideal conditions.
These efforts were crowned with intensive working sessions in which the governors of Nouakchott and the regional directors of the sector participated, with the aim of preparing a precise field plan covering the various districts and ensuring a model school start.

Comprehensive Coverage of the Capital and Positive Community Interaction
The cleaning and awareness activities extended to dozens of schools and universities in the three states of the capital:
In West Nouakchott, the campaign started from the University Quarter Square and included nine main educational institutions, including: Al-Hajj Mahmoud Ba School, Sal Amadou School, Lycée Tevragh Zeina, and Secondary School for Girls.
In the northern state, activities were concentrated in the district of Toujounine and the neighborhoods of Bouahdeide and Melah, with intensive participation from youth associations and municipalities.
While the campaign took the Hamza bin Abdul-Muttalib School in South Nouakchott (Arafat) as its starting point, with the participation of Al-Hussein schools and other institutions.
This field momentum, in which hundreds of volunteers participated, reflected a growing environmental awareness and effective cooperation between the various components of civil society and the public and private sectors.

Commitment to Development and Modern Technologies
In parallel with these field efforts, the company "Arma Mauritania" announced a plan to equip the capital with an advanced technological system in waste management, including direct tracking systems for trucks via GPS, smart containers equipped with electronic chips, as well as a mobile application that allows citizens to report black spots and follow up on the handling of complaints in real time.
Towards Achieving Environmental Sustainability
With this organizational and field success, Nouakchott concludes its model campaign, which constituted a pioneering experience in involving various actors within a sustainable environmental project. "Arma Mauritania" confirmed that this initiative is only the first step within an integrated vision to transform the capital into a clean and sustainable city, based on awareness and shared responsibility between the state, the citizen, and economic partners.
Cleanliness – as the campaign emphasized in its messages – is not just a temporary act, but a civilizational value and a daily behavior that is entrenched through cooperation and perseverance, in order to ensure a healthy environment and a better future for the coming generations of Mauritania.
