Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that Israel had achieved "huge victories" in its war against the "Hamas" movement in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the battle was not over yet.
Netanyahu's statement came on the eve of the expected return of the hostages held in the Gaza Strip, saying: "Together we have achieved victories that have amazed the whole world. I want to tell you: wherever we fought, we achieved victory, but at the same time, the battle is not over." He added that his country faced great security challenges, pointing to attempts by some of its enemies to recover to strike Israel again, stressing that Israeli forces would deal with them. Netanyahu also announced Israel's readiness to receive all the hostages held in Gaza, where Israel and the "Hamas" movement will begin, on Monday, to implement an exchange process that includes hostages and Palestinian detainees under a ceasefire agreement. Netanyahu's office confirmed in an official statement: "Israel is ready and prepared to receive all the hostages immediately," in a move that is a turning point in the efforts to release the civilian hostages and achieve relative stability in the region.
