As part of the continuous follow-up of the development projects of the Saïdia tourist station, a meeting of the local committee to monitor this project was held on Tuesday, October 14, at the headquarters of the Oriental region, chaired by Khatib Lahbil, the wali of the Oriental region, the governor of Oujda-Angad, and in the presence of the governor of Berkane province, the general manager of the Saïdia Development Company (SDS), and the general manager of the Regional Multi-Service Company for the East (SRM), in addition to the regional directors of the relevant external services.
This meeting comes within the context of the continuity of coordination meetings aimed at keeping pace with the development dynamics that Saïdia tourist station is experiencing, and activating the joint commitments between various public and private partners, in completion of the path that began after the meeting held on July 12, 2025, and dedicated to reviewing the projects supervised by the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG), which were presented to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him. This session's work was devoted to studying a number of key issues related to strengthening the governance of the project and ensuring its sustainability and enhancing its competitiveness. In this context, the Saïdia Development Company presented the new vision for the general design of the station (master plan), which aims to adapt the project's orientations to the current transformations in the national and international tourism market, by diversifying the offer and improving its quality, with special attention to the environmental dimension and the principles of sustainable development. The meeting also discussed ways to transfer the management of green spaces, irrigation, and roads to the Saïdia municipality, in addition to studying the conditions related to transferring the management of the liquid sanitation and public lighting networks to the Regional Multi-Service Company for the East. A number of organizational and management issues related to the management of the station and strengthening coordination between various stakeholders were also addressed, in an atmosphere characterized by a spirit of responsibility and teamwork. This meeting was an opportunity to assess the progress in implementing the programmed projects, and to affirm the joint will of the various partners to consolidate Saïdia's position as a model tourist destination at the national and international levels, based on competitiveness, attractiveness, respect for the environment, and keeping pace with the modern standards of sustainable tourism.
