The Socialist Union of Popular Forces party opened, this Friday, October 17th, the work of its twelfth national conference in Bouznika with the participation of about 1600 conferees representing different regions of the Kingdom, in addition to a significant presence of national and international figures, including Moroccan party leaders, representatives of trade unions and civil bodies, as well as foreign guests representing socialist and progressive parties from Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
According to party leaders, this conference aims at more than just renewing organizational structures, as it is intended to be a station for rebuilding confidence in political action and confirming the role of parties as tools for reform, not just tools for positioning. The Socialist Union presents its vision through eight reference papers that address political and constitutional reforms, social and spatial justice, women's and youth issues, culture, internal organization, the intellectual project, and digital and media transformation. These papers constitute the summary of the preparatory committee's work for a year of internal discussion, and are considered the basis for crystallizing the party's position in a Morocco that seeks to consolidate full citizenship and build a democratic social state.
