HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
A short trip taken by three young men from Casablanca to Sidi Rahal beach this morning turned into a tragic murder, after one of them fatally struck his friend with a stone, before later going to surrender to the security services.
According to local data, the details of the incident began in the Farah Salam neighborhood, which is part of the Hay Hassani district of Casablanca, where two young men living in the area, along with a girl, decided to go to Sidi Rahal beach to buy alcoholic beverages. In the way back to Casablanca, and while the three were under the influence of alcohol, the driver chose to turn towards the “Larocade” road leading to Arrahma, avoiding a security checkpoint on the Azemmour road. However, his stopping on the side of the road to relieve himself turned into chaos, after his friend tried to exploit his short absence to drive the car and flee with the girl who was accompanying them. The same sources add that the driver and the owner of the car were surprised by the scene, so he chased them trying to retrieve the keys, before a heated dispute broke out between them, where the victim pulled out a knife, while the suspect grabbed a stone and struck him a strong blow to the head, knocking him to the ground in a serious condition, before he passed away inside the Hassani Hospital in Casablanca. After committing the act, the suspect voluntarily surrendered himself to the security services, which opened an investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, while the girl who was accompanying them is still on the run, awaiting the outcome of the ongoing investigations to determine all the circumstances of this crime that shocked local public opinion.
