HIBAPRESS – Rabat
During her intervention in the general session dedicated to discussing the new finance bill, parliamentarian Khadija Zoumi from the Istiqlal party addressed the reality of the school offer, pointing out the opening of 170 new educational institutions, which will raise the number of schools to approximately 12,611 across the various regions of the Kingdom.
Zoumi affirmed that this quantitative development is an important step, but it is not sufficient on its own to advance the educational system, as it is necessary to move from merely focusing on numbers to building a new awareness of education and its quality. Zoumi emphasized that the student today lives in a completely different environment, dominated by technology and the massive flow of digital content, which necessitates rethinking teaching and rote learning methods. Zoumi said that the child no longer only needs a classroom or curricula, but rather an educational space that motivates and helps them to positively interact with knowledge and develop their self-skills and social skills. The Istiqlal parliamentarian also posed a fundamental question about how to rekindle the desire to learn in the new generation, considering that the modern school is required to qualify motivating teachers who possess the ability to stimulate the latent energies of students and transform them into creativity and production. Zoumi explained that the real challenge today is no longer just in expanding the school offer, but in building a new relationship between the child and knowledge based on inspiration, motivation, and scientific curiosity.
