In a sharp intervention in the Finance and Economic Development Committee in the House of Representatives, the parliamentarian for the Nador region, Mohammadi Touhtouh, expressed his strong dissatisfaction with the fate of the Marchica project, which has remained stalled without achieving any tangible progress despite the years that have passed since its launch.
Touhtouh wondered in a loud voice: "Where is the Marchica project? Is it real or just an illusion?", pointing out that the director, who receives her monthly salary, does not provide any noteworthy results, while all the frameworks and buildings remain rented and money continues to flow into Marchica without these resources being used as required. Touhtouh continued in his statements, which were not devoid of harsh criticism, stressing that the projects that are supposed to be part of the development of the region, including green spaces, would not have been preserved without the intervention of the Nador official, who made painstaking efforts with simple resources to save what could be saved. This sharply shows the great incapacity of the agency responsible for the Marchica project in implementing its obligations. The parliamentarian did not stop at this, but rather addressed the director, demanding that she clarify the reasons for the delay in the planning design, which greatly hinders the project. He said in his sharp statements: "If this project is royal and represents a great hope for the population, why have things been left to be stalled?" He added that not providing the necessary capabilities to the director means destroying any opportunity for development in the region. He considered that providing a sufficient budget for such a project is indispensable, otherwise the project will remain just a distant dream. Touhtouh affirmed that the population in the region is looking forward to this project in particular, as they hope that it will contribute to providing job opportunities and achieving economic growth, which is considered necessary for the region and the region in general. He strongly questioned the fate of the Marchica project, saying: "Is it possible for these dreams to remain suspended in the air without being translated into reality?" Also, his intervention did not miss the reference to other important projects such as the Nador stadium and the hospital center in Selwan, where he stressed that providing job opportunities in the region is closely linked to the achievement of these projects. Despite this, he pointed out that the Marchica crisis greatly hinders any step forward. In the heart of these harsh statements, Touhtouh did not hesitate to point the finger at the director, saying: "Since her appointment, she has not presented anything tangible. The longer the population waits for the project, the more it is confirmed that the director has failed to achieve anything of note." He added that the population pins its hopes on this project, and instead of witnessing real progress, it is witnessing a clear decline in achieving any progress. Touhtouh concluded his intervention with a strong question about whether the director would be dismissed before it was too late, stressing that the failure of this project would be a waste of the opportunities that could have changed the face of the region completely. How long will the region remain hostage to this continuous failure? And will decisive decisions be taken to save the royal project before it turns into a sad memory added to the record of failure that the Nador region suffers from?
