HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The parliamentary member of the Rally of Independents, Yasmine Lmaghour, confirmed that the government led by her party approved increases in the salaries of employees and other groups, noting that the important thing is not the increase in wages in itself, but the social dialogue, the cost of which with this government reached 48 billion dirhams, meaning that it multiplied what the previous two governments had allocated over a full 10 years, 6 times.
Lmaghour said, before the committee discussing the draft finance law 2026, that there are those who have adopted the corruption of the discourse to obscure the reality of the path of achievements, and the benefit of millions of Moroccans from direct social support, pointing out the benefit of 2.5 million families without children who were not benefiting from support, and 1.5 million elderly people benefiting from support, and 6 million students benefiting from support to continue their studies, and the number of widows benefiting from support increased from 57 thousand to 300 thousand. She confirmed that the government has been able today to institutionalize a real social dialogue, in the context of respect for the social partners, which has produced tangible results on the ground. In relation to this context, Lmaghour considered that the current government has fought corruption and conflicts of interest in action, not with slogans, citing as evidence the reform carried out by the government for public tenders, and the number of trials of officials in various fields. She said, in contrast, that the fight against corruption was, with previous governments, an election campaign slogan, and at the same time they raise the slogan "God forgives what has passed". The young parliamentary member spoke about the imposition of a wealth tax that previous governments did not dare to do, and called it a solidarity tax, recalling its naming by the head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, as tax citizenship, which she considered a real fight against corruption through action and achievement that history will record.
