HIBAPRESS – Mohammed Zariouh
At a time when the Ministry of National Education raises slogans of "leading and quality schools," the Ibn Tofail Secondary School in Ahadan, which belongs to the Nador province, is experiencing a clear deterioration in the conditions of schooling, amid great dissatisfaction among both educational staff and students.
According to what the educational staff at the institution observed, students face the absence of teachers for essential subjects such as English and physical education, in addition to the lack of drinking water within the institution, which makes daily school life difficult and environmentally unsafe. The secondary school also suffers from the absence of a general guard to manage the affairs of the students and organize the school space, in addition to an acute shortage of the simplest logistical means, at the forefront of which are the requirements for printing assessments and pedagogical documents.
In the face of this situation, which the teachers described as "tragic," they expressed their astonishment at the absence of interaction from the Regional Directorate of Education in Nador, questioning the fate of the official promises that accompanied the launch of the "leading schools" project, and the reasons for the continued suffering of students in institutions that are supposed to be exemplary.
The educational staff confirmed that the secondary school students "deserve a decent education that rises to the level of their aspirations," calling on the relevant authorities to intervene urgently to provide the basic conditions for study and ensure a minimum of dignity within the institution.
It is worth mentioning that the staff of the Ibn Tofail Secondary School organized a protest stand inside the institution on Thursday morning, October 30, 2025, to denounce what they described as "systematic marginalization," and to demand the improvement of working and study conditions and guarantee the students' right to quality public education.
