The National League of Professional Football announced that the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca will be closed on Wednesday, November 5th, for maintenance work, in preparation for its handover to the Confederation of African Football in preparation for hosting the matches of the African Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025".
The league explained that the match scheduled between Raja Club Athletic and Kawkab Marrakech on Wednesday has been brought forward to take place next Tuesday, in line with the new closure date of the stadium. This decision comes after the controversy sparked by the company "Sonarges" earlier when it announced its intention to close the stadium on October 15th, before the authorities intervened to cancel the decision, knowing that the stadium hosted this week's derby match between the rivals Wydad and Raja.
