King Mohammed VI delivered, this Friday evening, a Royal speech to the Moroccan people, on the occasion of the issuance of UN Resolution No. 10030 regarding the Moroccan Sahara dispute.
Here is the text of the Royal speech:
"In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and prayers and peace be upon our Master the Messenger of God, his family and companions.
God Almighty says: "Verily, We have granted thee a clear Victory." (Al-Fath, 1). The Great God speaks the truth. My Dear People,
After fifty years of sacrifices, here we are, with the help and guidance of God, beginning a new victory in the path of consolidating the Moroccan nature of the Sahara, and the final end of this fabricated dispute, within the framework of a consensual solution, on the basis of the autonomy initiative.
It is a source of pride that this historic transformation coincides with the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Green March, and the seventieth anniversary of Morocco's independence.
On this occasion, I am pleased to share with you today the feelings of satisfaction with the content of the recent Security Council resolution.
We are living a decisive stage and a crucial turning point in the modern history of Morocco. There is what preceded October 31, 2025, and there is what came after it.
The time has come for a united Morocco, from Tangier to LaGouira, whose rights and historical borders no one will infringe upon. My Dear People,
I said in a previous speech that we have moved in the issue of our territorial integrity from the stage of management to the stage of change.
The dynamics we launched in recent years have begun to bear fruit on all levels.
This is because two-thirds of the countries in the United Nations have come to consider the autonomy initiative as the only framework for resolving this dispute.
The recognition of the Kingdom's economic sovereignty over the southern regions has also increased significantly, after the decisions of the major economic powers, such as the United States of America, France, Britain, Russia, Spain and the European Union, to encourage investments and trade exchanges with these regions.
This qualifies them to become a pole of development and stability, and an economic hub in its regional environment, including the Sahel and Sahara region.
Today we enter, thank God, the decisive stage at the United Nations level, where the Security Council resolution has defined the principles and foundations that are sufficient to find a final political solution to this dispute, within the framework of Morocco's legitimate rights.
In the context of this UN resolution, Morocco will update and detail the autonomy initiative, and will present it to the United Nations, to form the sole basis for negotiation, as a realistic and applicable solution.
We do not fail here to express our thanks and appreciation to all the countries that contributed to this change, with their constructive positions and their continuous efforts to support truth and legitimacy.
I would like to mention the United States of America, led by our friend His Excellency President Donald Trump, whose efforts enabled the opening of the way to reach a final solution to this dispute.
We also thank our friends in Britain and Spain, and especially France, for their efforts for the success of this peaceful path.
We also extend our sincere thanks to all the Arab and African sister countries, which have always expressed their constant and unconditional support for the Moroccan nature of the Sahara, as well as the various countries around the world that support the autonomy initiative.
Despite the positive developments that the issue of our territorial integrity is witnessing, Morocco remains keen to find a solution in which there is no victor and no vanquished, that preserves the face of all parties.
Morocco does not consider these transformations a victory, nor does it exploit them to fuel conflict and disputes.
In this context, we extend a sincere call to our brothers in the Tindouf camps to seize this historic opportunity to reunite with their families, and what autonomy allows to contribute to the management of their local affairs, and in the development of their homeland, and building their future, within the framework of a united Morocco.
As the King of the country, the guarantor of the rights and freedoms of citizens, I affirm that all Moroccans are equal, with no difference between those returning from the Tindouf camps and their brothers inside the homeland.
On the other hand, I invite my brother, His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to a sincere brotherly dialogue between Morocco and Algeria, in order to overcome the differences and build new relations based on trust, the bonds of brotherhood and good neighborliness.
We also reiterate our commitment to continue working to revive the Arab Maghreb Union, based on mutual respect, cooperation and integration between its five countries.
My Dear People,
The comprehensive development, security and stability that our southern regions are experiencing is thanks to the sacrifices of all Moroccans.
We can only express our pride and appreciation here to all our loyal subjects, especially the people of our southern regions, who have always affirmed their adherence to the sanctities of the nation, and to the national and territorial unity of the country.
We also commend the continuous efforts made by the official, partisan and parliamentary diplomacy, and various national institutions, for the final end of the file of our territorial integrity.
We take the memory of the immortal Green March to evoke with all reverence and appreciation the great sacrifices made by the Royal Armed Forces, the security forces, in all their components, and their families in different regions of the country, over the past fifty years, in order to defend the unity of the homeland, and to preserve its security and stability.
We also pray for the pure souls of its creator, our gracious father, His Majesty King Hassan II, may God have mercy on him, and all the righteous martyrs of the nation.
Peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon you."
