The Court of First Instance in Targuist issued a ruling yesterday, Monday, October 19, 2026, sentencing a defendant to six months of effective imprisonment, with the court costs to be borne by him without compulsion. This comes after he was prosecuted in connection with assaulting assistants affiliated with the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Company for Multi-Services.
In the public prosecution, the court ruled that the defendant was not guilty of the charge of possessing a weapon and acquitted him of it, while convicting him of the remaining acts for which he was prosecuted, and sentencing him to six months of effective imprisonment.
In the civil aspect, the court ruled to accept the civil claims in form, and in substance, to compel the defendant to pay civil compensation to the parties seeking civil rights.
Thus, the court ruled in favor of the regional company, in the person of its legal representative, a total civil compensation of 1000 dirhams, while ruling in favor of the civil claimant Kh.Sh. compensation of 5000 dirhams, and in favor of the civil claimant Y.K. compensation of 3000 dirhams.
The court also imposed expenses on the defendant, with the physical coercion set at its minimum.
This ruling comes, as stated in the operative part of the judicial decision, with the affirmation that the conviction was for the acts proven against the defendant, while he benefited from acquittal regarding the charge of possessing a weapon.
