HIBAPRESS – Beni Mellal
Mohamed Oujjar, a member of the political bureau of the National Rally of Independents party, confirmed that the UN Security Council's approval of the Moroccan autonomy proposal is a "historic moment" in the history of the Kingdom, describing it as the most important since the launch of the Green March by the late King Hassan II.
Oujjar explained during the sixth stop of the "Path of Achievements" in the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region, on Saturday, that what happened in the Security Council, which took place last Friday, October 31, is a "clear victory for Morocco" after a long period of "political jihad" and declared and undeclared war with multiple opponents. The party leader pointed out that the whole world witnessed this moment, where no permanent or non-permanent member opposed the autonomy proposal, while 11 countries voted in its favor. Oujjar considered that this great achievement is the work of "the courage, wisdom, and genius of King Mohammed VI" in managing the file. Oujjar reminded that the King ascended the throne in difficult international circumstances, with significant international opposition to the Moroccan position and the Kingdom's withdrawal from the African Union, but the royal will succeeded in "reversing the equation" in favor of the country, so that today all major capitals witness and acknowledge Morocco's achievement. Oujjar stressed the existence of a "clear difference between Morocco before and after October 31," confirming that the country emerged from this fierce war to begin a "new phase" whose main goal is to implement autonomy and convince the world of its correctness and effectiveness. He stressed that the real strength of Morocco at this stage lies in "the rallying of all the forces of the people behind the King," calling on parties, unions, and living forces to raise the level of the historic moment to support the internal front and send a message to the world that Moroccan society is united and knows its priorities. In the context of this new phase, Oujjar explained that the King's recent speech included two main messages: to the people of Tindouf, which is an explicit call to open the doors for them to return honorably to the homeland, and to sister Algeria to start a new path that enhances joint cooperation for the benefit of both countries and the Maghreb. The speaker confirmed that the National Rally of Independents, which was born in the dynamics of the Green March, will remain committed and mobilized to support national unity and the King's efforts, stressing that Morocco is a democratic, cohesive country that is internationally respected and capable of facing major challenges successfully.
