The city of Taounate witnessed unprecedented celebratory atmospheres on Friday, October 31, 2025, as the population of the province, in its various components, took to the streets in massive popular marches to express their overwhelming joy at the latest UN resolution issued by the UN Security Council, which confirmed support for the autonomy initiative under Moroccan sovereignty, considering it the serious and realistic solution to end the fabricated conflict over the Moroccan Sahara.
The cities of Taounate, Tahar Souk, Tissa, Ghafsai, and the village of Aba Mohamed witnessed widespread displays of jubilation, in which citizens from various social strata participated, along with elected officials, representatives of political parties, trade unions, civil society associations, and notables. Participants raised national flags and pictures of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory, chanting slogans and national anthems that embody the spirit of belonging and loyalty to the nation, amidst an atmosphere of pride and honor.
The population confirmed during these marches that the UN resolution constitutes a historic victory for wise Moroccan diplomacy, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and a consolidation of justice and legitimacy that characterizes the Moroccan position in defending its territorial integrity. The participants also renewed their constant attachment to the glorious Alawi throne and their constant readiness to mobilize behind His Majesty to defend the country's territory and unity.
This event comes to reflect once again the national consensus on the issue of the Moroccan Sahara and highlights the echo of increasing international support for the autonomy initiative, which has gained wide support in various international forums, thanks to the insightful royal vision and the effective diplomatic approach of the Kingdom.
This atmosphere was made even more joyful by its coincidence with the Moroccan people's celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the glorious Green March and the seventieth anniversary of the glorious Independence Day, which gave these marches a national character filled with pride and honor for the nation's journey and its firm unity.
