Dr. Moulay Boubker Hamdani, President of the Center for Strategic Thinking and Defense of Democracy in Laayoune, considered that the recent Security Council resolution represents a "qualitative and pivotal shift in the international approach to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara."
Hamdani explained in a statement to "Channel 2" that the resolution did not just renew the routine mandate of the UN mission, but clearly defined the framework for the final solution, affirming the consolidation of the autonomy initiative as a fundamental, credible, and applicable reference. The speaker pointed out that the international community is witnessing today a transition from the stage of conflict management to the stage of framing the political solution, which reflects – according to him – increasing international consensus and new realism among the major powers, with a sincere desire to reach a lasting political settlement. Dr. Hamdani linked the UN resolution to the high royal speech addressed to Algeria, stressing that the royal call for constructive dialogue is not merely an initiative for good neighborliness, but a wise diplomatic step that places all parties before their historical responsibilities. He added that the new direction reflects the logic of the Moroccan state based on building a common future, restoring trust, and strengthening Maghreb integration, confirming that Morocco is entering a new phase based on the foundations of consensual political settlement, regional cooperation, and investing international momentum. The President of the Center for Strategic Thinking in Laayoune concluded by saying that the resolution and the new phase offer a historic opportunity to turn the page on the past and establish a new Maghreb space based on peace and joint development that the peoples of the region aspire to.
