HIBAPRESS – Mohamed El Harouali
The 69th Congress of the International Union of Lawyers (UIA), held in Guadalajara, Mexico, saw the adoption of a decision to host the 70th session of the congress in Marrakech at the end of October 2026.
The announcement came during the closing session after coordination meetings in which the Marrakech Bar Association participated as part of the Moroccan National Committee delegation to the Union.
The congress's work included a joint meeting between the Moroccan National Committee and the Joint Committee, which includes representatives from the General Presidency of the Union, to lay the organizational foundations for the upcoming event in Marrakech.
The meeting discussed the outlines of the congress program and the mechanisms for coordination with Moroccan professional bodies to ensure logistical and organizational readiness befitting the size of the event.
This selection highlights Morocco's position within the international legal scene and reflects the professional radiance of the Moroccan legal profession and its role in promoting legal cooperation and the exchange of experiences between defense bodies around the world.
Marrakech's session next year is expected to provide a broader platform for discussion on cross-border professional and human rights issues with the participation of delegations from multiple continents.
