The city of Fez continues its efforts to modernize and develop public transport services by reinforcing the bus fleet with a new batch of modern vehicles equipped with the latest technologies. This is within the framework of an integrated vision aimed at ensuring comfortable, safe, and sustainable urban transport for the population.
This initiative falls within the program of renewing and modernizing public transport means, which is supervised by the Regional Company of Fez for Transport and Urban Mobility in partnership with the Municipality of Fez and local authorities. This program aims to improve the quality of services and expand the network of lines to cover new neighborhoods and areas within the territorial scope of the city. The new buses are characterized by a modern design and advanced technical and environmental standards, including internal camera monitoring systems, digital screens to display information about trips, as well as equipment dedicated to facilitating access for people with disabilities, in addition to comfortable seats and an air conditioning system that ensures suitable transport conditions in different seasons. A source from the supervising company explained that this process is part of a comprehensive plan to renew the fleet, which will be implemented in successive stages until all old buses that no longer meet modern quality and safety standards are replaced. This step has been widely welcomed by the city's residents, who have expressed their satisfaction with this new dynamic, expressing their hope that the modern buses will contribute to reducing overcrowding, improving punctuality, and enhancing the image of public transport in the scientific capital. In the same context, the city of Fez is experiencing a renewed urban and aesthetic renaissance, where the city has regained its beauty and splendor under the supervision of Mr. Hicham El-Kartassi, who is leading a comprehensive strategy to restore the brilliance of the scientific capital and highlight its aesthetic and heritage identity, in partnership with the global company GTR, specialized in roads, which in turn contributes to the implementation of structured projects to promote infrastructure and improve public space. This initiative comes within the framework of the vision of the Municipality of Fez aimed at improving the quality of urban life and valuing public space, through structured projects that include the preparation of roads, the expansion of green spaces, and the development of infrastructure, in line with national trends towards sustainable urban development that reflects the city's position as a prominent urban and economic hub.
