HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The morning session today at the Finance and Economic Development Committee in the House of Representatives witnessed a heated debate between MP Abdellah Bouanou of Justice and Development and a parliamentarian from within the majority, after repeated interruptions from him during her intervention.
At the end of the debate, Bouanou said in a harsh tone: "Those who have nothing to say should leave, those who do not know how to read should leave," in a comment that some considered a distortion of the discussion, which should have as one of its principles respecting the opinions of others. This statement sparked varying reactions within the committee, where positions differed between those who considered it an expression of parliamentary emotion as a result of the discussion, and those who saw it as a violation of the parliamentary etiquette usual in such committees.
