The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amin Tahraoui, stated in the House of Representatives that the national health map, the study of which was launched last September, will provide an accurate vision of the health system, by precisely defining the geography of the public and private health supply, and its compatibility with demographic needs.
Tahraoui said during a session to discuss the sub-budget project for the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, yesterday Tuesday, in the Social Sectors Committee in the legislative institution, that this measure aims to improve the health supply by revealing and correcting all imbalances related to infrastructure, medical equipment, and human resources.
The speaker continued, responding to the interventions of parliamentarians, that the largest goal of his ministry, through various measures taken, is to preserve the dignity of the citizen when entering the hospital or health center, considering that the citizen's right to health is a fundamental right.
He spoke about the opening of the Mohammed VI University Hospital Center of Agadir, which was the subject of royal instructions, explaining that it forms an academic and medical pole of excellence at the Souss-Massa region level, which contributes to enhancing integration within the national health map. He added that the end of 2025 will witness the opening of the university hospital center in Laayoune, where work is making significant progress.
Tahraoui stated that the emergency situation in repairing and rehabilitating hospital institutions prompted the ministry to resort to "negotiated deals," noting that the management of these deals will be entrusted to public companies according to conditions set by the Ministry of Health, to ensure competition between companies, reduce working deadlines, and rationalize the cost of projects.
