The headquarters of the Marrakech-Safi region hosted this Saturday morning the installation ceremony of El Khatib El Hebil as Wali of the region and Governor of the Marrakech prefecture, in the presence of Abdelouafi Laftit, Minister of the Interior, and a number of civilian and military officials, elected officials, and local actors.
During the installation ceremony, the Minister of the Interior gave a speech with important content, highlighting the nature of the tasks entrusted to the new Wali, stressing that the next phase requires a new spirit in management and a continuous focus on serving the citizen. The Minister emphasized the importance of direct communication with the population, and giving priority to the education and health sectors, with a focus on combating social and spatial disparities, and accelerating the implementation of integrated development programs in vulnerable areas, to ensure that all citizens benefit from development in a fair and comprehensive manner. El Khatib El Hebil was born on November 7, 1958, in Oujda, and holds a state engineering diploma in civil engineering. El Khatib El Hebil began his professional career in 1983 as a state engineer at the Regional Establishment for Equipment and Construction – East, before being appointed as a regional delegate for housing in Beni Mellal-Azilal in 1990. El Khatib El Hebil also held the position of Director of the Regional Establishment for Equipment and Construction – South in 1992, then Director of the Regional Establishment for Equipment and Construction – Tansift in 1997, to then hold the position of Director of the Regional Company Al Omrane-Marrakech and Al Omrane – Tamensourt, on April 30, 2009. El Khatib El Hebil was granted the high royal trust of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who appointed him as governor of the Nouaceur province on November 26, 2010, a position he held until he was again granted the high royal trust, where His Majesty appointed him as governor of the Settat province on February 6, 2016, then Wali of the Beni Mellal – Khénifra region, and governor of the Beni Mellal province on February 7, 2019, then Wali of the Oriental region, and governor of the Oujda-Angad prefecture starting from October 18, 2024.
