HIBAPRESS – Rabat
In the context of recent interactions regarding the content of the sub-budget project of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection for the year 2026, the Minister of Health, Tahraoui, sent an official letter to the general secretaries of the National Trade Union Coordination in the sector, in which he affirmed the continued implementation of the principle of centralized salaries, and reassured health professionals that there is no intention to change the financial system in force.
The Minister explained in his letter that what was circulated regarding the "transfer of salaries of employees of the territorial health groups to the chapter of equipment and various expenses" is an inaccurate interpretation of the presentation document presented to the Social Sectors Committee in the House of Representatives, noting that the content of the document does not include any amendment that affects the legal status or financial rights of health professionals. The ministry emphasized that all commitments contained in the minutes and agreements signed with the unions are still in effect, and that the disbursement of salaries will continue to be made from the state's general budget, in accordance with the provisions of the Finance Law for the fiscal year 2025, and the decree regulating the basic system for health professionals working within the territorial health groups. The Ministry of Health also renewed its commitment to the principle of continuous social dialogue with the trade union bodies, affirming its appreciation for the efforts made by professionals in various health institutions, and confirming that strengthening trust and cooperation remain the basis for implementing the reforms related to strengthening the national health system. The Ministry concluded its statement by emphasizing that all the legal and financial rights and gains of sector professionals are preserved and are not subject to any retreat, and that the interpretations that are being promoted do not change the reality of the guarantees provided by the law and the regulations in force.
