HIBAPRESS – Italy: Abdelatif Elbaz
As part of its ongoing cultural and awareness-raising activities, the Moroccan-Italian Solidarity Association, in partnership with the Municipality of Melegnano in the province of Milan, organized a series of cultural and artistic meetings on November 7, 8, and 9, 2025, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Green March, the 70th anniversary of the Kingdom's independence, and the bicentennial of Moroccan-Italian relations.
The events, hosted by the historic Melegnano Palace, witnessed the wide participation of members of the Moroccan community, representatives of Moroccan and Italian associations, and a number of mayors, politicians, human rights activists, businessmen, intellectuals, and media professionals. This event coincided with the historic Security Council resolution issued on October 31, 2025, which renewed its support for the autonomy proposal under Moroccan sovereignty as the sole solution to the fabricated conflict over the Moroccan Sahara, and with the decision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to adopt October 31 as National Unity Day. The Moroccan-Italian Solidarity Association, on behalf of the Moroccan community in Italy, expressed its pride in the wisdom of His Majesty the King and his sound diplomatic vision, which strengthened Morocco's position on the international stage, highlighting that the increasing support of more than 124 countries for the autonomy initiative embodies the legitimacy of the Moroccan position and the justice of its cause. In the context of celebrating the bicentennial of Moroccan-Italian relations, the Association called on the Italian authorities to keep pace with the international dynamic supporting the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and to take a clear stance supporting the Moroccan proposal, in harmony with the spirit of friendship and the common history between the two countries.
