HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion revealed significant difficulties facing the implementation of its projects, due to delays in approving its annual budget, which negatively impacted the progress of the Cities of Professions and Skills project, launched by King Mohammed VI as part of the royal initiatives aimed at developing vocational training in Morocco.
The Office, in an official statement from its director, Loubna Tarich, explained that the delay in convening the Board of Directors, chaired by the Minister of Employment, Younes Sekkouri, and approving the budget directly affected the pace of strategic projects, highlighting that the institution had not received any financial installment from the estimated envelope of 1.5 billion dirhams by November 7, 2025, despite the council's approval of the annual program since last April. The source added that the Cities of Professions and Skills program had stopped for 14 months due to the non-convening of the steering committee, noting that the intervention of the Head of Government through an exceptional financial authorization allowed the completion of works and the opening of the city of Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab, in addition to scheduling the opening of new institutions in the regions of Marrakech-Safi and Guelmim-Oued Noun, bringing the number of completed cities to ten out of twelve planned cities.
