HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, today, Monday, in the House of Representatives, offered verses of appreciation and praise for His Majesty the King, Mohammed VI, for making October 31st of each year a new national holiday called "Unity Day," highlighting that this came in consideration of the historical transformation that the Moroccan Sahara issue witnessed, which consolidates firm national and territorial unity.
Akhannouch stated, in the monthly question session for the Head of Government on the topic: "Development of the Southern Provinces of the Kingdom," that this national holiday commemorates a small part of the journey of His Majesty the King, the inspiring leader in whom courageous national stances were embodied, which made our country a model to be emulated in stability, progress, and defense of sovereignty, stressing that Unity Day, which His Majesty has graciously made a holiday, is, above all, a message about the unity of the Moroccan people with all its living forces, and its mobilization behind the wise royal leadership. Aziz Akhannouch pointed out that Unity Day also means prioritizing the interests of the nation above all other interests, as the nation is supreme and cannot be surpassed, explaining that this holiday does not only mean a moment of national consensus, but embodies the true meaning of the policy of extending a hand to brothers in the regional neighborhood to build a large, strong, and prosperous Morocco and turn the page on the past.
