On Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the Guercif Prefecture, dedicated to approving the technical study related to the project of widening the Vison Bridge located under the railway. The meeting was chaired by the Governor of Guercif Province, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Prefecture, the Pasha of Guercif city, the President of the Municipal Council, the Regional Director of Infrastructure and Traffic at the National Railways Office in Meknes, the Regional Director of Equipment, Transport and Logistics, and the Regional Director of the Eastern Multi-Service Company – Guercif, along with a representative of the study office.
This meeting comes as a culmination of a series of previous meetings that were dedicated to studying the various technical and organizational aspects of the project and accelerating its implementation on the ground.
In his opening speech, the Governor emphasized the great importance of this project, considering that this technical facility, located under the railway line connecting Fez and Oujda, constitutes a strategic hub for traffic, as it connects national road number 6 and national road number 15, as well as between the center of Guercif city and the highway, making it a major connection point inside and outside the city.
Due to the traffic congestion that the bridge has been experiencing for years, an ambitious project has been prepared that aims to widen the Vison Bridge and drain rainwater that causes traffic interruption towards the Moulouya River, within the framework of a comprehensive approach that aims to improve traffic flow and enhance road safety, in addition to developing the urban infrastructure in a way that meets the needs of the population and keeps pace with the accelerated urban dynamism that Guercif city is experiencing.
This meeting was crowned with the approval of the technical study for the project, with a view to mobilizing the necessary financial resources and bringing it into implementation as soon as possible.
