Starting from today, Thursday, Morocco resumes direct air flights from Israel, for the first time since October 7, 2023, the date the war in Gaza broke out.
With this step, Morocco has become the first Islamic country to reopen its airspace to Israeli aviation after a halt of more than a year.
According to what was reported by the Israeli channel N12, the decision came after weeks of coordination between the Israeli Minister of Transport, Miri Regev, and her Moroccan counterpart, where the civil aviation authorities in the two countries gave the joint green light to resume the Tel Aviv – Casablanca route.
It is worth noting that direct flights between Morocco and Israel, especially towards the cities of Marrakech and Casablanca, had recorded high rates of demand before they were suspended.
