The city of Ain Aouda, near Rabat, was shaken by a heinous crime after a thirty-year-old man lured a girl, approximately 13 years old and suffering from intellectual disability, before sexually assaulting her in exchange for only five dirhams.
The victim's father revealed the details of the case in an urgent complaint submitted to the public prosecutor, explaining that his daughter exhibits childlike behavior, making her an easy target for exploitation. Upon receiving the complaint, the Royal Gendarmerie began thorough investigations that culminated in setting up a tight trap for the accused, who actually attempted to repeat the crime after contacting the victim and requesting to meet her again in an isolated place. He was arrested in the act inside an abandoned garden where he had scheduled a second assault. Based on the shocking data and the seriousness of the act committed, the investigating judge at the Court of Appeal in Rabat decided to remand the accused in custody at the Tamesna prison, while investigations continue to classify the charges against him, including indecency with a minor by exploiting her vulnerable condition.
