The Progress and Socialism Party submitted today, Monday, a detailed memorandum to the Royal Court containing a political vision and practical proposals regarding the updating and development of the autonomy initiative in the Moroccan Sahara.
The party stated in its statement that it had intensified the work of the "Working Group in charge of Autonomy" during the past weeks, adopting a broad participatory approach that included listening to a number of experts and national actors, in addition to organizing field visits to various regions of the Sahara and direct meetings with influential local figures. The statement clarified that the Political Bureau of the party discussed in its meeting on November 11th the broad lines of this vision, before formulating the initial version of the memorandum. The office also held an extraordinary meeting in the city of Dakhla last week, which was entirely devoted to reviewing that formula and approving it, so that the final version would be prepared based on the members' observations.
