HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has circulated today's Friday sermon to various preachers and imams in the Kingdom's mosques, for which the topic of the necessity of engaging in public affairs on the basis of enjoining truth and enjoining patience was chosen, and it came as follows:
Praise be to God, praise befitting His noble attributes of perfection, and increasing the supply from the beautiful attributes of His beauty, and corresponding to the great matter of His attributes of majesty, and we bear witness that there is no god but God, who is characterized in word and deed by singularity, and is free from opposites and rivals, and is independent of what is other than Him, and is in need of everything else except Him, and we bear witness that our master Muhammad is the servant of God and His Messenger, the good example, and the good role model for every believer, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, complete and continuous, as long as the night continues with the day, and on his good and righteous family, and his noble and excellent companions, and on those who followed them with good in the evening and in the morning.
As for what follows; O community of believers, God Almighty says:
[1] By the time, indeed, mankind is in loss, except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
Servants of God; Imam al-Shafi’i, may God have mercy on him, says:
“If God had not revealed anything other than this surah, it would have been sufficient for people; because it included all the sciences of the Qur’an”[2].
Al-Bayhaqi and al-Tabarani narrated from Abi Hudhayfa, may God be pleased with him, who said:
“The two men from the companions of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, if they met, they would not separate until one of them recited Surah (Al-Asr) to the other, then one of them would greet the other”[3].
That is because it included the sciences and knowledge that people need, individuals and groups, and because of the issues of faith and good deeds, and what is built upon them from enjoining the truth, which is enjoining good and forbidding evil, and enjoining patience on that; God Almighty has sworn by time, as an indication of the time that encompasses creation and order, and life cannot be imagined except including it, beginnings and endings. Indeed, man (in the sense of the human race) is in loss, misguidance, and hardship in this world and the hereafter; except for those who are described by these four characteristics, which are the path of good life, the rope of salvation, and the path to victory in the two realms; they are:
First: Sincere faith; which is: the firm belief and the comprehensive certainty of all the thoughts of the soul, and its liberation from its desires and selfishness, and its deliverance from its whims, suspicions, and lusts, and leading to surrender, delegation, tranquility, and serenity, and the bearer of observing God Almighty in secret and in public; Muslim narrated from Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God ﷺ said:
“By the One in whose hand is my soul; you will not enter Paradise until you believe”[4].
Second: Good deeds; It includes worship, transactions, and behavior in general; and the description of the work as (righteous) requires that it be in accordance with the Sunnah; as God Almighty said:
That He may test you [to see] which of you is best in deed﴾[5].
Al-Fudayl ibn 'Iyad said: i.e., the most sincere and the most correct. It was said: What is the most sincere and the most correct? He said: The sincere if it is for God, and the correct if it is according to the Sunnah”[6].
God Almighty says: ﴿And that is Paradise which you are given as inheritance for what you used to doۖ[7].
Third: Enjoining the truth:
If the Muslim achieves these two qualities: sincere faith and righteous deeds leading to a good life, and extracting the servant from the call of his desires to sincerity in obeying his Lord, then he moves to the last two qualities in order to engage and contribute to the reform of his society.
And engaging in public affairs, which the Holy Qur’an calls the comprehensive command, requires liberation from the characteristics of neglect, weakness, dependence, fraud, and selfishness.
Caring about public affairs and engaging in its service does not mean deviating from the constants of the nation, and singing outside the flock, nor looking from the angle of desire and the love of appearing and disagreement for the sake of disagreement, as these negative characteristics destroy and do not build, and separate and do not gather, and corrupt and do not reform, and God Almighty has said:
And when it is said to them, “Do not cause corruption on the earth,” they say, “We are but reformers.” Unquestionably, they are the corrupters, but they do not perceive.
For the truth is a name of the names of God Almighty; as He says:
That is because Allah is the Truth[9],
Then He called the name of the truth on everything that God loves and approves of from intentions, words, and deeds, and what is other than it is transient and false and fading.
Among the meanings of enjoining the truth: enjoining good and forbidding evil with its conditions, manners, and controls; Muslim narrated from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God ﷺ said:
“Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he is not able, then with his tongue; if he is not able, then with his heart…”[10].
That is effective by hand for those who have authority, judgment, and judgment between people, and by the tongue for scholars, provided that they have sufficient knowledge and knowledge of the consequences of matters, and what results from each command or prohibition of interests, and what is averted from evils, as it is by the heart and compliance with the command and avoidance of the prohibition, and increasing the number of reformers and avoiding the gatherings of the corrupt; this is one of the most effective and easiest ways to enjoin good and forbid evil.
Servants of God; Enjoining good and forbidding evil means gentleness to people, not harshness, gentleness not violence, facilitation not difficulty, gradation not haste; with the children at home, the colleagues at work, and the general public in the street and other facilities; and by that, good prevails over society and modesty and reverence prevail, and corruption decreases and its causes fade or disappear, and the successful one is the one whom God has granted success, and the lesson in enjoining good and forbidding evil is that a person begins with himself by commanding and forbidding her.
May God benefit me and you with His clear Qur’an, and with the hadith of the master of the first and the last, and our last call is that praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.
The second sermon
Praise be to God, the Lord of Glory and Honor, and prayers and peace be upon our master Muhammad, the full moon, and upon his family, companions and those who follow them forever.
Servants of God; fear God as He should be feared, and observe Him in secret and in whispers, and know that the fourth characteristic of those whom the Almighty has excluded from loss, loss, and destruction, is the characteristic of enjoining bearing and patience with tribulation:
Fourth: Enjoining patience; and patience is the elixir of the virtues of morals, and the chemistry of all events and events that turns them into gains, not losses, and into gains, not misfortunes; therefore, the Prophet ﷺ said: “And patience is light”[11].
With it, the believer shines in the darkness of the darkness, and escapes from the ravines of the ravines, and it is on worship obedience, and on the test is contentment and contentment, and from sins is chastity and immunity, so it revolves with the believer wherever it revolves, and protects him from the whims of anger, selfishness and selfishness, and adorns him with altruism.
Therefore, enjoining it is mentioned in conjunction with enjoining the truth; because the callers to God and the guardians of affairs are in greater need of patience than others; because of what they may find in their way of evils and reactions, and their example is the Messenger of God ﷺ, who says:
“O God, guide my people, for they do not know”[12].
Complying with the saying of the Truth, may He be glorified and exalted:
So be patient, as were those of determination among the messengers﴾[13].
O people, fear God – servants of God – and be sincere in enjoining the truth and enjoining patience, and you will be happy, and increase the prayers and peace on the Imam of the patient, and the example of the advisers, our master Muhammad; O God, bless and grant peace and bless our master Muhammad, whenever the rememberers mention you and him, and the negligent ones forget to mention you and him, and may God be pleased with his good family, and with his rightly guided righteous successors; Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali, and with the rest of the Companions altogether, especially the Ansar among them and the Muhajireen, and with us with your grace and kindness, O Lord of the worlds.
And grant victory, O God, with your manifest victory, to whom you have appointed the affairs of your servants, our master, the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, O God, protect him with the protection of your Book, and bless him in health and wellness, and delight his Majesty with his beloved Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay El Hassan, supported by his happy brother, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, and the rest of the members of the noble royal family.
And have mercy, O God, with your generosity, kindness, and generosity, on the two noble kings, our master Muhammad V, and our master Hassan II, O God, raise their status in the highest heights, and reward them with the best of what you have rewarded a benefactor for his beneficence.
O God, grant us success in what you love and are pleased with, and make us among those who enjoin truth and patience, striving in your pleasure, and among those who command good and forbid evil, in compliance with your command and avoiding your prohibition. And a desire for the reform of livelihood and victory in the Hereafter.
O God, forgive us, our fathers, our mothers, and all our dead and the dead of Muslims.
Our Lord, give us in this world good and in the Hereafter good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Glory, from what they describe, and peace be upon the messengers, and praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds.
