HIBAPRESS On Saturday in Tangier, the former Secretary-General of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, praised the vision of King Mohammed VI for achieving a just and lasting peace in the Middle East region.
In a speech delivered during a seminar entitled: "Conflict and Challenges for Redefining the Regional Order: Towards a New Middle East," organized as part of the seventeenth session of the Medays International Forum, Amr Moussa highlighted the importance of the pillars that His Majesty emphasized in the message he sent to the Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, stressing that these pillars form the basis for any credible effort to achieve a just and lasting peace in the region. He pointed out that these pillars, as defined by the King, should guide all international action or efforts in favor of just and lasting peace, especially those related to ensuring the political and administrative unity of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, under the supervision of the Palestinian National Authority, from the perspective that they together constitute an integral part of the desired Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in addition to supporting the Palestinian National Authority led by President Mahmoud Abbas, and strengthening its political, administrative and financial capabilities. The former Secretary-General of the Arab League also addressed the recent developments on the international scene, particularly the increasing recognitions of the State of Palestine, and the ongoing changes in the world and in the Arab region, while emphasizing the need to resolve the Palestinian issue to open wider horizons for cooperation and coexistence. For his part, Ramadhan Abu Jazar, Director of the Research Department at the International Center for Research and Human Rights in Brussels, highlighted the growing international dynamism in favor of the Palestinian cause after two years of war on the Gaza Strip, praising the position of the Kingdom of Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee. He added that the Kingdom was and still is a major defender of the rights of the Palestinian people, highlighting the King's continuous efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause. The Medays Forum, organized under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI on the initiative of the Amadeus Institute, witnesses the participation of heads of state and government, ministers, political officials, experts, and international actors.
