The territorial brigade of the Royal Gendarmerie in the center of Khmiss Mtouh, affiliated with the El Jadida gendarmerie, stopped a four-wheel drive vehicle loaded with drugs early Saturday morning.
The operation, carried out by the gendarmes in the territory of the Douar Laababdah, under the commune and command of Khmiss Mtouh, in the province of El Jadida, came based on information provided by the intelligence service of the regional command of the Royal Gendarmerie of El Jadida; where a tight trap was set up that enabled the interception of a black "Volkswagen Touareg" four-wheel drive car, which was being driven by the so-called (S.), nicknamed "Weld Al-Kahla", who was being sought, and who fled after leaving the vehicle taking advantage of the darkness and the dense fog that was hanging over the region.
Furthermore, as a result of subjecting the vehicle to inspection, the gendarmes seized a significant quantity of prohibited substances, determined to be 131 kilograms of cannabis stems and 32 kilograms of tobacco leaves, which were confiscated for the benefit of the investigation ordered by the Public Prosecution at the El Jadida Court of First Instance.
On this occasion, this gendarmerie intervention falls within the framework of the sweeping and cleansing campaigns, which are routinely launched by the services of the regional command of the Royal Gendarmerie of El Jadida, in the areas of its territorial jurisdiction in the provinces of El Jadida and Sidi Bennour, in order to stop those wanted and to reduce the retail trade in drugs and alcohol.
