The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Morocco and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Ash-Sharif Agency organized a meeting on Saturday at the headquarters of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which is celebrated this year on November 25.
The meeting was attended by a number of members of the Arab diplomatic corps accredited in Morocco, as well as party, union, and human rights figures, along with personalities from the worlds of politics and culture.
In a speech on the occasion, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Morocco, Jamal Al-Shoubaki, praised the steadfast positions of the Kingdom of Morocco, led by King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, towards the Palestinian cause.
The Ambassador also praised the King's message, which he addressed to the Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, considering that it "clearly carries the Palestinian vision and program."
Al-Shoubaki praised the efforts made by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Ash-Sharif Agency to assist the residents of the Gaza Strip and support the steadfastness of Al-Quds and its people.
He pointed out that the celebration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People comes this year under difficult circumstances experienced by the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community to stop the aggression, open the crossings for humanitarian aid, protect civilians, and end the occupation.
For his part, the Director in charge of managing the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Ash-Sharif Agency, Muhammad Salem Al-Sharqawi, emphasized that the position of His Majesty King Mohammed VI is firm in supporting the Palestinian cause.
He added, in a statement to the press, that this support is embodied in the aid that His Majesty allocates to the Gaza Strip, and in the continuous support to the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Ash-Sharif Agency, with high instructions from His Majesty, to the people of the city, pointing out that these efforts complement the diplomatic role played by Morocco to support the Palestinian cause at various levels.
On this occasion, artistic performances were revived by the Moroccan group "Jadal" and the Palestinian group "Asayel for Popular Arts"; which participated with heritage paintings that highlight the authenticity of the Palestinian cultural heritage, through traditional costumes and Dabke dances.
The meeting witnessed the honoring of Al-Shoubaki and the late Mohamed Benjelloun Al-Andalusi, the former president of the Moroccan Association to Support the Palestinian Struggle.
