In a scene that seemed straight out of an action movie, Reggio Calabria witnessed a meticulously planned robbery on Monday morning targeting a cash transport vehicle belonging to the company "Sicurtransport" inside a tunnel on the A2 motorway. The value of the stolen amount was estimated at about two million euros.
With calculated precision, the perpetrators adopted a plan to paralyze traffic, setting fire to two cars inside the tunnel to create complete chaos, before opening fire in the air to intimidate the guards without injuring anyone. Under this rapid pressure, the truck crew was forced to hand over the money. Police and firefighters arrived quickly at the scene, while investigations continue to unravel the threads of one of the most daring robberies the region has witnessed in recent years.
