“The Clerks’ Union announces a 6-day national strike”

The National Office of the National Union of the Justice Sector, affiliated with the National Union of Labor in Morocco, has announced the resumption of its struggle.

The union called for a national strike in all the kingdom’s courts, judicial centers, local directorates and archive centers, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, July 9, 10 and 11, 2024, as well as on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, July 16, 17 and 18, 2024.

The union stressed that this strike comes due to the government’s lack of seriousness in dealing with the demands of court employees, as well as its delay in implementing the recommendations of the National Charter for the Reform of the Judicial System, approved by His Majesty the King, particularly with regard to judicial administration.

He added that despite understanding the intervention and the positive reaction of the Minister of Justice in the previous phase, he holds the other government sectors concerned responsible for the blockage encountered in the adoption of the amendment of the basic statute.

The union also accused the Prime Minister of withholding the basic status of clerks and not releasing it in accordance with the amendments agreed with the Ministry of Justice, expressing its rejection of government duplicity in dealing with basic statuses, and reaffirming its commitment to the proposals submitted to the Minister of Justice in a correspondence dated May 3, 2024, in which he proposed to include engineers in the sector in the basic status according to the formula approved by the economy and finance sector, which would allow them to receive compensations that they have been deprived of for many years.
