Royal Air Maroc announced on Thursday the launch of a new direct air route linking Casablanca to Los Angeles, USA, starting June 7, 2026.
"RAM" said in a statement that HIBAPRESS received a copy of, that this air route, which is considered the first direct link (within 12 hours) between Africa and the Pacific coast of the United States of America, represents a "qualitative leap towards expanding the long-range network of the national company".
It added that this new direct air route will operate with a frequency of three flights per week, in order to "meet the increasing demand for transportation between continents, especially on the eve of the FIFA 2026 World Cup events in the United States of America", and stated that the route is "specifically directed to the Moroccan and African communities."
Royal Air Maroc continued in its statement that this route is also directed to "American tourists and other passengers, businessmen, and fans of Moroccan, African and European teams who wish to travel to the United States of America on the occasion of organizing this global event".
Hamid Addou, CEO of "RAM", said on the occasion of the launch of this new route that the latter represents "more than a travel destination", adding that it "indicates an important stage in the history of Royal Air Maroc and air transport in the African continent in general", and that it "embodies our ambition to bring Morocco closer to the major economic, tourism and cultural poles worldwide".
Addou continues, "In addition to supporting the momentum of our kingdom's openness to the various countries of the world. And based on its position as a major player in national tourism, Royal Air Maroc will contribute with this development to enhancing the reputation of Morocco's destination in the American market, as one of the most important markets exporting passengers worldwide."
On the other hand, the statement says, "With the opening of this new air route, Casablanca will enhance its leading role as a major airport hub, effectively connecting the African continent with the European and American continents," adding that the launch of this route falls "within the framework of the strategic development plan of Royal Air Maroc, which aims to strengthen the fleet, open new air routes and intensify international and domestic air connectivity alike."
The "RAM" statement indicated that these flights will be organized "on board Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, those aircraft distinguished by their comfort, good performance, and advanced technology," adding: "Thus, passengers on board these aircraft will be able to benefit from high-quality services on board, a diverse individual entertainment offer, and ideal comfort throughout the long-range routes."
The statement added that with this unprecedented achievement, "Royal Air Maroc has strengthened its presence in North America, which currently includes air flights to New York, Washington, Miami, Montreal and Toronto," continuing: "This new air route will also accompany a noticeable increase in the frequency of air flights and other strategic long-range routes, such as Sao Paulo, Miami, Washington and Dubai."
With the opening of this new air route, the statement clarifies: "Royal Air Maroc reaffirms its reference role in Africa while strengthening Morocco's position as a global air hub, especially in the perspective of organizing the FIFA 2030 World Cup events, in partnership with Spain and Portugal."

Flight tickets will be available for sale starting Thursday, December 4, on the Royal Air Maroc website, through call centers and commercial agencies of the company, and the network of travel agencies.
