HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
The Criminal Court of First Instance in the Court of Appeal of Al Hoceima issued a ruling yesterday, convicting an accused and sentencing him to 12 years in prison after being prosecuted in a serious case that included several serious charges, including assaulting a minor with violence, rape, kidnapping using violence and disobedience, in addition to insulting public officials while performing their duties, and using violence against them, and threatening to commit crimes, and carrying weapons under circumstances that threaten the safety of people and property, as well as possessing and trafficking in strong drugs and facilitating their use for others, including minors.
The judicial body in the public lawsuit ruled to dismiss the formal defenses, and rejected the request to conduct a medical examination, considering that the elements of the file constitute a sufficient basis for proving the charges against the accused, so that he is held accountable for the penalties prescribed by law, and he is obliged to pay the costs at the minimum.
The court also ruled to confiscate a sum of money seized in favor of the public treasury, and transfer the rest of the seizures to the State Property Administration, within the framework of the legal procedures related to the case.
In the part related to the requests of the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration, the court decided to accept the request in form, and to sentence the accused to pay a fine of 649,845 dirhams in favor of the relevant administration.
