The Tinghir province has witnessed heavy snowfall in recent hours, leading to the closure of a number of roads, which has disrupted traffic and affected the movement of citizens.
Local sources confirmed that the snow began yesterday, Friday, and is still continuing today, Saturday, while forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology indicate the continuation of snowfall during the day and tomorrow, Sunday, which increases the difficulty of movement in the area. The roads that have been cut off and the difficulties arising from them: The most prominent roads on which traffic has stopped include the regional road between Tinghir and Midelt, and the road linking Aknioun, Tinghir and Zagora, in addition to other road sections facing the same situation, which forced many drivers to change their routes or postpone their trips. Efforts of local authorities: The equipment services continue their efforts using snowplows to open some of the damaged roads, while the authorities warn citizens against traveling except for extreme necessity, calling for caution and the adoption of safety measures, including equipping vehicles with snow chains.
