A number of regional directorates of the Regional Academy for Education and Training of the Casablanca-Settat region have announced the temporary suspension of studies in public and private educational institutions in several municipalities within the region, due to severe weather conditions.
The suspension of studies, which takes effect from today, Tuesday, includes the regional directorates of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in Settat, Berrechid, El Jadida, and Sidi Bennour, as well as municipalities affiliated with the Nouaceur regional directorate. This measure is taken to ensure the safety of students, educational and administrative staff, and users, following the orange alert issued the day before yesterday, Sunday, by the General Directorate of Meteorology. This proactive measure is also part of the directives of the responsible ministry regarding safety in educational institutions and protection from dangers resulting from severe weather conditions. In this context, the Regional Academy for Education and Training has taken a set of measures, including activating regional, regional, and local alert cells, which are primarily responsible for monitoring the situation and taking the necessary measures, in coordination with the local authorities. In a related context, the presidency of Hassan I University in Settat announced the suspension of studies, as a precautionary measure, in all its affiliated university institutions, due to the weather disturbances witnessed in the region.
