The Jerada Prefecture, coinciding with the issuance of the weather alert, has activated vigilance mechanisms and proactive intervention, during an expanded meeting held at the prefecture headquarters and chaired by the governor of the province, in the presence of members of the vigilance committee.
The meeting was dedicated to studying various practical arrangements and urgent steps to ensure immediate and effective intervention in the event of any emergency, while emphasizing the need for maximum readiness and field coordination among all stakeholders, to preserve the safety of the population, especially in rural and mountainous areas.
In this context, the governor of the province stressed the importance of the actual presence of officials in various fields and sensitive points, in order to intervene immediately, and to open road routes damaged by rainfall or a sharp drop in temperature, ensuring the continuity of traffic and breaking the isolation of the affected villages.
It was also decided, starting tomorrow, Wednesday, to begin the process of distributing food aid and blankets to the population affected by the harsh cold wave, in the various communities and villages of the province, within the framework of a solidarity approach aimed at mitigating the effects of difficult climatic conditions.
Among the urgent measures taken, all shelter centers were put on full alert, and made available to the local authorities to receive cases that require temporary shelter, while providing the necessary conditions for residence and care.
These measures come within the framework of the Jerada regional authorities' keenness on proactivity and vigilance, and strengthening field efforts to protect lives and property, and ensure rapid and effective intervention during this exceptional climatic period.
