HIBAPRESS
Rashid Tahraoui, a member of the political bureau of the National Rally of Independents party, confirmed that the party has, in recent years, established an innovative model in political communication, based on proximity, listening, and developmental intellectual production, far from populist discourse and circumstantial approaches, during his intervention at the concluding communication meeting for "Achievements Path" in the city of Tangier.
Tahraoui explained, in his speech during the twelfth and final stop of the "Achievements Path" in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, on Saturday, that choosing Tangier to conclude this national tour carries strong symbolic connotations as it is "Morocco's gateway to Europe and Europe's gateway to Africa."
The speaker pointed out that the "Achievements Path," which started from the city of Dakhla on May 4, 2021, is an extension of a series of unprecedented communication initiatives, including "100 Days 100 Cities," "The Path of Trust," and "The Path of Cities," emphasizing that these meetings are not part of a circumstantial or electoral framework, but rather establish a new methodology in party work, based on direct listening to citizens, and getting to know their concerns up close, and enhancing trust in politics and the value of participation in public affairs management.
Tahraoui added that this approach enabled the party to develop new political literature which he called "developmental thought," which is a thought that is based on transforming local potential into wealth, mobilizing human energies, and sowing the spirit of initiative, in close partnership with local actors, considering that this communication model based on proximity is what explains some "confused and agitated" reactions from some competitors.
In the context of reviewing the party's path, the member of the political bureau recalled that the National Rally of Independents was established 46 years ago in a pivotal national context that followed the Green March, in response to the requirements of a new phase in the history of Morocco, stressing that the party experienced its "second birth" with the election of Aziz Akhannouch as its president, where he launched a comprehensive workshop for restructuring, organization, and modernization, including the revision of structures, and the establishment of more than 19 parallel organizations, foremost of which are youth, women, and professional organizations, and the adoption of modern working tools that keep pace with social, political, and economic transformations.
Tahraoui stressed that this organizational effort was not directed towards electoral preparation, but rather aimed at defining clear functions for each organization, and delving into the study of public issues and proposing solutions, in order to develop public policies that produce development, stressing that the gathering "was and will remain the party of construction and appreciation of the national call, and not the party of blackmail and bargaining."
In this context, he highlighted that the party has, since 1979 to 2021, remained a major player in political life, whether from the position of the majority or the opposition or supporting the government, pointing out that its permanent presence has constituted an element of reassurance and balance within the national political system, thanks to its loyalty to the institutions and its positive contribution on various fronts.
The speaker confirmed that the National Rally of Independents does not view the management of public affairs as a race to power, nor does it require governmental positioning to serve the nation, stressing that serving the state, the citizen, and the king is not conditioned by positions, and that the rush for positions harms politics and weakens its image in the public eye.
At the current political level, Tahraoui expressed his surprise at the controversy that followed the party's lead in the 2021 elections, recalling that the party has always respected the results of the ballot boxes and has never questioned or protested them, whatever its rank, which reflects, according to him, his deep belief in democratic choice.
In his speech about the outcome, he stressed that the party's electoral program constituted a clear contract with the voters, based on public consultation and a realistic vision, and not on bidding or tickling emotions, explaining that the government program aims at a deep and sustainable reform, which puts the citizen at the heart of public policies, and makes these policies a tool for producing development, and ensuring job opportunities, stable income, education and health with dignity and without mediation.
Tahraoui also praised the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, and the diplomatic successes achieved in the issue of territorial integrity, and the increasing international support for the autonomy initiative, considering that what has been achieved consolidates the position of Morocco as an emerging state with a weighty regional and international positioning.
The member of the political bureau called for responsible political practice, based on humility, working with numbers and facts, and the constant readiness for accountability through elections, praising the role of youth and women within the party, and the performance of the ministers and elected officials from the gathering at the national and territorial levels, and stressing that the ultimate goal of the party remains to contribute to the stability and development of Morocco and the preservation of its territorial integrity under the royal leadership.
