The Municipality of Fes has officially begun to terminate the services of provisional agents working in its various districts and departments, as part of the reorganization of human resources and the modernization of administrative management methods, in implementation of instructions issued by the Ministry of Interior.
According to an official memorandum, a copy of which is available to HIBAPRESS, addressed by the President of the Fes Municipal Council to the heads of districts, departments, and municipal services, it was decided to definitively stop using provisional agents starting yesterday, Monday, December 22, 2024, with the relevant officials being obligated to take all measures to implement this decision on the ground. The memorandum emphasized the need to notify the provisional agents concerned of the termination of their duties within the specified deadlines, and to strictly adhere to the contents of the decision, in line with the new trends aimed at controlling expenditures and rationalizing the management of human resources within the territorial communities. This measure comes in a wider national context that aims to review the patterns of precarious employment within public administrations, and to enhance transparency and good governance in management, but it is expected to have tangible social repercussions, especially among the provisional agents who have for years been part of the unstructured functional fabric within the municipality. In light of these developments, attention is turning to the relevant authorities in order to search for alternative solutions or social support programs that would mitigate the severity of the economic and social effects resulting from this decision, especially for the groups that relied on these tasks as a primary source of income.
